TÊTE-À-TÊTE: JESSIE

Introducing the beauty (and brains) of our first lookbook. Modelling and cooking tend not to go hand in hand, but this multitasking dynamo will give you many Reasons to Salivate (check it out). Jessie let our hair stylist tease the bejeezus out of her lovely long locks, got her hands dirty in rugged terrain, made us laugh (always a bonus) and brought us a tub of divine home-made tiramisu, just because.

Who?
Jessie Jewell Newman, 20 (Taurus), Brisbane (born and bred).

What?
Dinner party consultant, informal cook, food blogger, boutique sales assistant, journalism and advertising student, travel enthusiast, animal adorer, arts dabbler, healthy lifestyle supporter and aspiring restaurateur/culinary magazine writer.

Most valued beautiful treasure?
Physically speaking, it would be my charm bracelet with charms from everywhere I go. But in terms of the general most valued beautiful treasure in my life, I would say my partner, friends and family. They make every day sparkle.

Your meaning of beauty?
Something or someone that is essentially awe-inspiring

What do you treasure most about your life?
My values, beliefs, skills and talents that my upbringing and life experiences have instilled in me thus far. Without these attributes, I couldn't and wouldn’t be where and who I am today.

Most cherished piece of jewellery?
The rose gold ring I wear in memory of my grandma. She was such an intelligent and inspiring woman and looking down at my ring reminds me every day to make her proud.

Favourite BELÁ TESORO product?
I lust over the spectacular coloured stone rings. I don't wear a lot of block colour in my outfits so incorporating an eye catching piece of jewelery like those rings lifts my wardrobe instantly without being too over the top.

In three words, BELÁ TESORO is:
Unique, vast, enchanting.

The BELÁ TESORO lady...
Epitomises sophisticated sensuality.

Number one beauty tip?
Wear no makeup as often as possible. Let that skin breath ladies!

Favourite wardrobe item?
Any of my cocktail dresses. I have quite a unique collection.

Style inspirations?
I wear what accentuates my good physical attributes and hides the not-so-good ones. I use stores like Witchery and Country Road as a general style guide, but add my own personal touches.

Tunes on repeat?
Favourite song ever is probably Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, but right now I can't fight the 'ooo-ooo-ooo' urges inflicted by Matt Corby's song Brother.

Favourite read?
Delicious magazine and Gourmet Traveller magazine.

Last cooking success?
A six course Italian feast to feed 28 guests for my better half's surprise 25th birthday party. Favorite meal of the night - curried prawn and pumpkin soup. Mmm!

Beverage of choice?
I’m trying to quit coffee and banana smoothies, so have retreated to my hefty T2 collection, with a fresh juice here and there.

Favourite place in the world?
I think my honest answer is too corny to be published... In my boyfriend’s arms, *blushes*.

Signature scent?
Lately I’ve been mystifying the general public with my wafting Victoria’s Secret 'Dream Angel Forever' perfume. But I truly am more of a vanilla and rose oil advocate.

How do you relax?
Cook, massage (receive, that is) and sleep. In that order.

Current obsession?
The prospect of travelling the world while writing about my adventures and the cuisines I experience along the way.

Perfect day?
Beach, sun, decadent décor, all my loved ones, a magic wand to conjure any foods we desire (kilojoules and calories don't exist) and Nigella Lawson as a guest. Alternatively, put me amidst any other culture in the world, cooking with the locals, and I'd be just as satisfied!

Your loved ones would describe you as:
Determined, dreamy, random.

Life motto/mantra?
The biggest mistake you can make is being too afraid to make one.

~

True that. Thanks Jessie! You can whip up a feast for us any time.
